Paul Giamattiほどの人でも、Downtonへの出演に対する周りのリアクションには驚いたらしい。

そういえばShirley MacLaineも最近のインタビューで、「今や"DowntonのShirley"と知られている」と語っていたけれど、まんざらジョークというわけでもないのかもしれない。

ただ、アメリカにおけるそれほどまでのDownton人気にも、あのひどい（キャラに対して残酷というだけでなく、ドラマの展開としても...）事件が影を落とすことになるかもしれない。
